SCHOOL INFO

Our Institute is a Comprehensive State school. We have three departments: Pre-primary, Primary
and Lower Secondary School, which has got a course of musical studies. Our school has got a wide
population (we are around 1000) and we work in two buidings. The school is located in a risky area,
in the suburbs of the city. Our school opens to the territory and involves parents also in activities and
projects. The whole school staff, the teachers, the coordinators and the headmistress are directly
involved in schools projects, cooperate and work in joint-action to reach common objectives and to
foster the awareness of being active citizens in Europe, and we are motivated in sharing experiences
and working methods with other teachers from foreign countries. Every year, our Institution carries
out either curricular or extra-curricular, internal and external, projects aiming to the promotion of the
educational and formative success. The projects in our school are addressed to all pupils of the three
departments; the contents of the activities are: environment, legality and active citizenship, safety,
sport, arts. Our curricular projects focus on: prevention and recovery of early school leaving, health
and care, internationalisation, emotionality, continuity, orientation. Our Institution has activated
different inclusion projects, where pupils with special needs work in cooperation with their
classmates to reach the planned objectives. As for the Internationalisation area, we are presently
running two e-Twinning projects involving pre-primary, primary and lower secondary school students.
Our partners are from France, England, Finland, Turkey, Romania, Spain, Portugal, Germany,
Poland, Bulgaria and Lithuania. Joining this project would be anothe r opportuniy to tackle the issues
we are facing. Moreover, some pupils from Primary and Low Secondary school sections succeeded
the Trinity Certification exams. Staff profiles that will be involved in this project: the Headmistress,
who has previously taken part in Comenius projects and has been involved in international programs
in other schools; she has got a degree in Foreign languages and can speak English and French
fluently; the coordinator has a degree in Foreign languages , teaches English in the Lower Secondary
school department, is in charge for actions taken in favour of internationalization, and is the project
contact person; Music teachers, Art teachers, PE teachers, ITC teachers . Twenty teachers within
the “Erasmus+ ka1” will attend a course on Creativity (“Creativity in teaching and learning“) abroad,
so that they can learn, improve, exchange experiences in cooperative and collaborative learning
process as long as in creativity and innovation and share best practice in teaching and learning,
using ICT
